Leadership Update at the UK Serious Fraud Office
The Serious Fraud Office (UK) has announced Graham McNulty QPM will step in as Interim Director from 6 April, succeeding Nicholas Ephgrave QPM, who is retiring after two and a half years of service.
McNulty, a former senior police officer with 31 years of law‑enforcement experience, joined the SFO as Chief Operating Officer in September 2024. Since then, he has played a central role in advancing the agency’s capabilities, including its first case management system and enhancing use of AI technologies to improve investigations and disclosure processes.
This transition marks a significant moment for the SFO, as it continues to evolve its approach to tackling serious and organised economic crime. With McNulty’s deep investigative background and proven leadership, the organisation will hope to continue driving improvements and strengthening public trust.
